Product Description
These Debakey Needle Holders are equipped with Tungsten Carbide inserts on the jaws. These inserts provide exceptional durability and strength. Tungsten Carbide is a hard and wear-resistant material, making it ideal for gripping and manipulating needles during surgery. It ensures a secure hold on the needle, minimising the risk of slippage, which is critical for precise suturing.
The needle holder typically features fine, delicate tips. These fine tips enable surgeons to have precise control when suturing. This level of precision is essential, especially in surgeries involving delicate or intricate tissues. The fine tips allow surgeons to work in tight spaces and create well-placed sutures.
Many Debakey Needle Holders come with a ratchet mechanism. This mechanism allows the surgeon to lock the instrument in a closed position, maintaining consistent tension on the suture while passing the needle through the tissue. This feature ensures that the suture remains taut during the suturing process, contributing to neat and secure closures, particularly in deep or complex wounds.
Some models of Debakey Needle Holders have fenestrated jaws. These jaws have small openings or perforations, reducing the risk of damaging the suture or tissue. The fenestrated design enables holding the needle with just the right amount of pressure, ensuring that it does not overly compress the needle and suture material. This feature is particularly advantageous when suturing delicate or fragile tissues, preventing unnecessary tissue trauma.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to challenge everything we do, be accountable for what we manufacture and also continually improve. Ensuring that every instrument has the correct composition guarantees their suitability for the intended purpose and enables them to perform their designated actions effectively.
We select the highest grade steels, for the best long term value for our customers. As part of our ISO 9001 quality system, we ensure we have access to material mill certificates and also part of our proactive objective quality assessment, we send off routine batches of material for 3rd Party testing as well as verification. Furthermore, this ensures our customers receive the instrument they ordered, manufactured from the correct steel, as per BS 5194.
