Derf Needle Holder

The Derf Needle Holder features short jaws and delicate serrations that hold small needles and more commonly 5-0 and 6-0 sutures. In ophthalmic, dental, or plastic procedures, surgeons frequently use the Derf Needle Holder due to its shorter length, which enables easy control in smaller surgical areas. This ratcheted instrument has straight, serrated tips with a central groove, allowing surgeons to have precise control in these more confined surgical regions.

Product Description

Our Derf Needle Holder, also known as a “Derf Needle Driver,” serves as a surgical instrument extensively utilised in medical procedures, particularly within the field of surgery. It possesses the capability to firmly grip and manipulate needles and sutures during surgical tasks.

Our Derf Needle Holders are essential for a surgeon to grasp and control needles with precision. These instruments typically have a scissor-like design with ratcheted handles for improved grip and control. The jaws of the needle holder are designed to securely grip the needle, making it easier for the surgeon to pass the needle through tissues and create sutures.

Furthermore, the Derf needle holder boasts an ergonomic design, complete with finger loops and a ratcheted locking mechanism. This facilitates easy use and minimises hand fatigue during lengthy surgeries. The instrument’s exceptional control and maneuverability empower healthcare professionals to fashion well-aligned, tension-free sutures. These sutures are vital for optimal wound healing and minimal scarring.

In conclusion, the Derf needle holder assumes a pivotal role in surgical settings. It guarantees the precision and safety required for successful procedures. Its design, characterised by a secure grip and user-friendly features, establishes it as an indispensable tool for surgeons, contributing significantly to enhanced patient outcomes.

Furthermore, we select the highest grade steels, for the best long term value for our customers. As part of our ISO 9001 quality system, we ensure we have access to material mill certificates and also part of our proactive objective quality assessment, we send off routine batches of material for 3rd Party testing as well as verification. Furthermore, this ensures our customers receive the instrument they ordered, manufactured from the correct steel, as per BS 5194.
