Description

Castroviejo Corneal Forceps

Castroviejo Corneal Forceps are crucial instruments utilised in ophthalmic surgeries, specifically those involving the cornea, the eye’s transparent outer layer responsible for light focusing onto the retina. These forceps are employed for tasks such as corneal transplantation, grafting, suturing, biopsy, and delicate tissue manipulation during surgical procedures.

  • Precise grip
  • Fine tips
  • Locking mechanism

These features of the Castroviejo Corneal Forceps facilitate delicate manoeuvres during corneal surgery. The fine tips ensure minimal trauma to the delicate corneal tissue, reducing the risk of complications such as scarring or inflammation. The locking mechanism secures the forceps in place, providing stability during intricate procedures and preventing accidental slippage that could compromise surgical outcomes.

The precise grip of these forceps enables surgeons to execute intricate movements with confidence, crucial in delicate procedures such as corneal transplantation or corneal suturing. The fine tips allow for meticulous tissue handling, essential for preserving the integrity of the cornea and optimising postoperative visual outcomes. Furthermore, the locking mechanism ensures consistent instrument positioning, minimising the risk of unintended tissue damage and enhancing surgical efficiency. Overall, these features contribute to the effectiveness and safety of corneal surgeries, empowering surgeons to achieve optimal results for their patients.

Our Philosophy

Overall, our philosophy is to challenge everything we do, be accountable for what we manufacture and continually improve.  This also ensures every instrument has the correct composition, to ensure they can be fit for purpose and perform the action they were designed for.

Furthermore, we select the highest grade steels, for the best long term value for our customers. As part of our ISO 9001 quality system, we ensure we have access to material mill certificates and also part of our proactive objective quality assessment, we send off routine batches of material for 3rd Party testing as well as verification. Furthermore, this ensures our customers receive the instrument they ordered, manufactured from the correct steel, as per BS 5194.
