Product Description

St Martins Forceps is a specialised extra fine device that ophthalmic surgeons utilize for grasping, holding, and manipulating the scleral edge of the corneal incision and other delicate tissues during certain ocular surgeries. Its extra fine design allows for precise grip, ensuring accurate handling of fragile tissues. This precision is crucial in surgeries where delicate manoeuvres are required, such as in corneal procedures or intraocular lens implantation. The forceps’ ability to delicately manipulate the scleral edge facilitates the surgeon’s control during suturing, contributing to the overall success of the procedure.

Furthermore, the precise grip offered by St Martins Forceps minimises tissue trauma, reducing the risk of postoperative complications and promoting faster healing. By securely holding the scleral edge, the forceps enable surgeons to maintain stability and accuracy throughout the suturing process. This enhances surgical efficiency and outcomes, as it allows for meticulous closure of incisions with minimal disruption to surrounding tissues. In the hands of skilled surgeons, St Martins Forceps becomes an indispensable tool for achieving optimal results in delicate ocular surgeries, ultimately benefiting patients by ensuring safer and more effective procedures.

Our Philosophy

Firstly, our philosophy is to challenge everything we do, be accountable for what we manufacture and also continually improve. Furthermore, we manufacture our stainless steel instruments in strict adherence to BS 5194 guidelines. This also guarantees that each instrument possesses the accurate composition necessary for them to be suitable for their intended purpose and to effectively execute their designed actions.

Moreover, we select the highest grade steels, for the best long term value for our customers. As part of our ISO 9001 quality system, we ensure we have access to material mill certificates and as part of our proactive objective quality assessment. We send off routine batches of material for 3rd Party testing and also for verification. This ensures our customers receive the instrument they ordered, manufactured from the correct steel, as per BS 5194.
